Computer Fundamentals:-
A computer is an electronic device which automatically
accepts and stores input data, processes them and produces output results under
the detailed sequence of instructions given by the user.
The modern age computers are used to
perform the following operations:-
- To perform complex and repetitive calculations rapidly an accurately.
- To hold a program of a model, this can be reused at any time in future program.
- To make decisions.
- To store large amount of data and information for subsequent use in future.
- To provide information to the user.
- To correct and modify the data automatically by providing signals.
- To draw and print graph etc.
On the basis of their
making principle, the computers can be classified into following three
categories:-
1) Digital computer:-
The digital computer carries out operations on distinct data
values and operates in a word of binary ONES and ZERO. These are the most widely
used computers in the world as the arithmetic operations are performed very
quickly. So that’s why the digital computers perform calculations on large
amounts of data in a very short duration of time.
2) Analog computer:-
The analog computers
carry out operations on data which can very continuously and are measurable rather than countable such as
time, lengths, weights etc.
3) Hybrid computer:-
A combination of analog and digital
computers in which useful and desirable features of both are merged to serve a
particular purpose is termed as Hybrid computer. These machines have devices
which convert analog signal into digital signal and vice versa. Such device is
called MODEM (Modulation-Demodulation).
Digital
computer can be broadly classified in four major groups, based on the
physical size and configuration.
Microcomputers have compact size and multiple uses, were widely used in
homes, offices, in business and commercial establishments, as well as in
schools, colleges, universities and research institutes.
2)
Minicomputers: -
Minicomputers were initially 16-bit systems, however, nowadays; 32 bit mini
computers are available. The mini-computer is very well suited for supporting
Local Area Network (LAN).
3)
Mainframe Computers: -
Mainframe computers are 32-bits machine system with h huge capacity memory. They
are very powerful and capable of executing nearly 100 million instructions per seconds
(MIPS). It is used for data processing and scientific calculations.
4)
Supercomputers: - The
supercomputers are generally 64-bit machines, with a huge memory and can execute
over 100 million instructions per second or MIPS. Supercomputers are immensely
used in meteorological forecasting, space research, seismic research, bio medicine, aeronautics, robotics etc.
Computer Tutor:-
Computer has been dominating the world technological sector
since 1970s. The wonderful machine has not only won over the hearts of billions
but also, it has entered all walks of life. Computer tutor is very essential in
these days. Many School started computer classes from primary education level
because we cannot imagine any area where computerization has not been done in these
days. A computer tutor is some ones who help a student studying about computer.
Tutors teach us about computers their history, features, about making programs
and troubleshoot in any kind of difficulty. Online private tutor is a
very popular nowadays.
